Attorney Giuseppe Fiorella was born in Barletta on April 5, 1942.
The youngest of eleven children, he graduated on July 21, 1967, from the University of Bari (renamed Aldo Moro University on October 7, 2009, in honor of the statesman and professor Aldo Moro).
After moving to Milan, he founded the Fiorella Law Firm in September 1970.
Attorney Giuseppe Fiorella became a figure of exceptional prominence in the Italian legal landscape. At that time, the professional and social environment in Italy was characterized by many firms consisting of a single practitioner.
In this context, Attorney Fiorella succeeded in distinguishing himself and achieving remarkable success, both professionally and within the institutions of the Milanese and national Bar.

During his long and distinguished career, Attorney Giuseppe Fiorella served for ten years as a member of the Milan Bar Council, chaired by Attorney Paolo Giuggioli. He dedicated himself with passion and commitment, working alongside all members of that body to ensure that the “justice system” would safeguard not only the rights of legal professionals but also—and above all—the rights of citizens. His efforts focused primarily on addressing the organizational and structural shortcomings that hinder the achievement of a truly “fair trial.” With this in mind, his constant goal was to improve and reform procedures so as to eliminate the unacceptable length of time required to conclude legal proceedings.
His institutional commitment extended well beyond the local sphere, as he went on to serve as a member of the National Bar Council, where he contributed to major decisions regarding legal policy at the national level. His authority and expertise also earned him appointment to the Commission for the Impeachment of the President of the Republic, an office of the highest institutional responsibility that attests to the recognition of his professional and moral stature.

Attorney Giuseppe Fiorella played a leading role in the judicial matters that have shaped Italy’s legal, political, and social history, distinguishing himself for his ability to handle with expertise and rigor the most complex and sensitive cases in the national legal landscape. His long career, spanning nearly sixty years of history, was crowned by the prestigious award of the gold medal for fifty years of service, a testament to his exceptional contribution to the development of Italian law and justice.

Among the many activities he carried out, Attorney Fiorella was the promoter of a unique initiative in Italy, which made it possible to provide free legal assistance to inmates serving final sentences who are often left entirely to themselves. For the creation of this project, the Milan Bar Council was awarded, for the first time in its history, the Gold Medal by the Province of Milan.
Lawyer Giuseppe Fiorella passed away on August 31, 2023 , leaving a professional and human legacy of inestimable value for the entire Italian legal community and for all those who had the privilege of knowing his dedication to law and justice .
We express our deepest sympathy to the family of our dear Peppino Fiorella, a pillar of the Order, who served as Councilor and disciplinary delegate for many years, delicate tasks he always carried out with humanity and poise.
For these qualities, for his passionate commitment in the courts of justice and for his great professionalism, he enjoyed the esteem not only of his colleagues, but also of the magistrates.
